Leylah Fernandez coasts past Papadakis with decisive win in Germany


Canada’s Leylah Fernandez breezed past Germany’s Lena Papadakis 6-0, 6-1, at the grass-court Bad Homburg Open on Monday.

Fernandez, 20, of Montreal, had six aces on her way to winning 92.3 per cent of her first serves while dominating the Round of 32 match.

Fernandez, ranked 21st, moves on to face No. 39-ranked Anna Blinkova of Russia in the Round of 16.
