Alfie Barbeary has suffered a heartbreaking serious injury when making his long-awaited Bath debut against Leicester Tigers in the Gallagher Premiership.
The former Wasps star came on for his debut just before halftime and showed Bath fans what they are looking for in future with an early line break to start the second forty.
Your heart goes out to him though after another great carry his knee and muscles seemed to buckle as his debut ended in injury.
Bath boss Johann van Grann’s reaction post match tells a very worrying tale.
He said: “I don’t want to speculate but the injury is somewhere between his knee and ankle as he’s in so much pain,”
Reacting to Barbeary’s latest setback, one fan wrote: “That’s awful for Alfie Barbeary. Poor man, he has no luck.”
Another commented: “Underhill and Barbeary both off injured within 2 minutes of each other, don’t expect to see either again this season at least. Bath rugby are cursed.”
Another nasty looking head knock for Underhill cut his game short just after halftime and becomes a major concern with his history.
The England flanker was stood down for three months due to a series of concussions just 12 months ago with then boss Eddie Jones ‘worried; about his future.
