Arsenal’s squad has been assessed ahead of the summer transfer window, with Mikel Arteta once again expected to be busy.
The Gunners boss transformed his squad last year as the club spent a record-breaking £142m on bringing in the likes of Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares. And the club’s current crop of players have now been assessed ahead of more potential additions.
It comes as William Saliba has dropped a transfer hint over his future in north London. And Jack Wilshere has offered his advice to Arsenal wonderkid Charlie Patino.

Wilshere’s Patino advice
Jack Wilshere has offered his advice to Arsenal’s new wonderkid Charlie Patino.
Patino has got everyone behind the scenes at the Gunners excited by his potential, and he’s even been described as the best young player to come out of the club’s hugely successful Hale End academy. It’s a position Wilshere himself knows well having burst on the scene for the club at a tender age as well.
And prior to completing his transfer to Danish side AGF Aarhus, Wilshere went through his most iconic Arsenal performance with Patino in an effort toaid his development.
Squad assessed
Arsenal will enter the summer transfer window knowing they need to bring in new faces in a number of key positions.
At least one new centre-forward and a centre-midfielder are expected to arrive as a minimum if Mikel Arteta wants to continue the progress he has made with the club since his arrival in December 2019. But that could mean a number of players become surplus to requirements and could be moved on – and Mirror Football has now assessed the place of every member of Arteta’s squad.
Saliba’s transfer hint
Arsenal defender William Saliba has dropped a huge transfer hint ahead of what could be a monumental summer for the young Frenchman.
Saliba has struggled to break into the first-team set-up at the Emirates Stadium, spending time out on loan at AS Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille in a bid to gain valuable experience. The centre-back has impressed this term in Ligue 1 and he will face a big decision over where his future may lie during the next transfer window.
And it appears he may have hinted at a move away from the north London club.
