Subtle Rassie spotlights ref again

Rassie Erasmus has taken to social media once more to highlight officiating discrepancies during the Test between the Springboks and France on Saturday.

In the aftermath of the clash, which France won 30-23, Erasmus posted a video on social media highlighting two incidents which were handled questionably by referee Wayne Barnes, who also awarded a contentious late try to Les Bleus.

The first was a slow-motion, zoomed in replay of France fullback Thomas Ramos leading with his forearm to the head of Bok right wing Cheslin Kolbe, which went unsanctioned.

In the second incident, Erasmus alludes to Barnes calling a forward pass on fullback Willie le Roux’s long connection to Damian Willemse on the wing.

Last week, Erasmus – after his first Test back at a stadium since completing a matchday ban handed down by World Rugby for criticising match officials – posted a clip casting aspersions on referee Nika Amashukeli’s officiating of the Boks’ defeat to Ireland.

Erasmus posted another two clips later on Sunday, highlighting when France replacement hooker Peato Mauvaka detached from a maul just before Bok replacement hooker Deon Fourie was yellow-carded, and when France centre Gael Fickou went offside at a ruck.
