Midi Olympique are now reporting that England centre Joe Marchant has signed for Top 14 side Stade Francais for next season.
A story initially reported by Neil Fissler in The Rugby Paper has now been backed up and confirmed by a more reputable source.
The French newspaper have reported today that the move to the French capital has been finalised ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Joe Marchant facts:
- Not many players have figured in every back-line position and also at hooker and open side flanker but Marchant has done just that
- As well as is rugby achievements, Joe has a black belt in Wada Ryu Karate (2011), represented Hampshire in the discus, shot put and hammer (2010-12) and was an English Schools finalist in gymnastics in 2010
- He played a starring role at the 2016 World Rugby U20 Championships and managed to score twice in the final against Ireland in Manchester
- Winchester-born, he has now switched to centre, though wore the number 10 shirt when making a try-scoring England U18 debut against Scotland in 2014
