Blitzboks blank Malaysia in Games opener



Angelo Davids scored a hat-trick as South Africa whitewashed Malaysia in the opening Pool B clash of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Friday.

The Blitzboks led 22-0 at half time thanks to a brace from Davids, along with tries from Muller du Plessis and Selvyn Davids, with Ronald Brown adding the extras.

Angelo Davids bagged his third after the break, with Dewald Human and Zain Davids adding their names to the try tally, to complete a resounding 46-0 win for Neil Powell’s charges.

SA next faces Tonga at 9.48pm on Friday, before closing out the pool clashes against Scotland on Saturday (1:18pm).
